Sofia Ikhlef: Building Digital Bridges for Entrepreneurs in the GCC

Introduction

My name is Sofia Ikhlef. I am an entrepreneur and digital project leader based in the GCC. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA, and my work focuses on digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem building.

I am the founder of Neia Solutions, where I design and support websites, mobile applications, and digital platforms for entrepreneurs, brands, and institutions. I also manage and contribute to an e-commerce platform dedicated to promoting small and medium local businesses, helping them gain visibility and structure their digital growth.

Alongside my entrepreneurial activities, I organize business and community-driven events and regularly intervene as a speaker, particularly to help young people and women better understand digital transformation, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Professional life

My professional life is built around project development and collaboration. I work closely with founders, SMEs, and institutions to translate ideas into structured, sustainable digital solutions.

Over the years, I have developed partnerships with key regional actors, including Landmark Group through Oasis Mall, and collaborated with institutions such as the French Embassy in Bahrain on innovation, youth, and sustainability-focused initiatives.

Why this field ?

I chose the digital and entrepreneurial field because it allows ideas to turn into tangible impact. Digital tools can significantly reduce barriers for entrepreneurs, especially women and young people, by offering access to visibility, structure, and opportunity.

Upcoming projects

My upcoming projects focus on expanding digital platforms and mobile applications, strengthening e-commerce initiatives supporting local SMEs, and developing new event and educational formats related to entrepreneurship and digital skills.

Key life moments

Moving to the GCC was a defining turning point in my life. I arrived in the region and built everything from the ground up, both professionally and personally.

Another milestone was being recognized as Woman in Web3 (MENA) at the WOMEN IN TECH® Global MENA Awards in Riyadh, followed by participation in the global finalists gathering at the French National Assembly in Paris. This recognition reflected work developed around SYMO and the broader vision behind Neia Solutions.

More recently, contributing as a speaker and French expert at the Green Youth Hackathon 2025, organized by the French Embassy in Bahrain, reinforced my commitment to youth empowerment and sustainability.

What is your advice for women who want to succeed ?

My advice to women who want to succeed is to invest in their skills, trust their vision, and stay consistent over time. Success rarely happens overnight. Building strong foundations, surrounding yourself with the right people, and remaining adaptable are essential.
I also believe it is important for women to claim their space confidently, negotiate their value, and not wait for permission to lead or innovate.

What is your opinion on the situation of women ?

The situation of women has significantly evolved in recent years, particularly in entrepreneurship and digital sectors. In the GCC and internationally, we see more women accessing leadership roles, funding, and visibility.

However, challenges remain in terms of long-term inclusion, representation at decision-making levels, and equal access to opportunities. The focus now should be on creating sustainable ecosystems that support women beyond symbolic recognition.

What do you think of the website ?

The website provides a valuable and inspiring platform that highlights authentic stories of women entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds. It contributes to visibility, representation, and knowledge sharing, which are essential to encouraging more women to pursue entrepreneurship and leadership paths.

Final words

Entrepreneurship and digital transformation are ultimately about people, purpose, and impact. When women and young people are empowered with the right tools, skills, and opportunities, they can drive meaningful and lasting change.

I remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote innovation, inclusion, and community-driven growth. Who dares win.
